Part 2: 1on40

I was pulling my hair out somewhat this morning (and you’d think I’d be much more careful about it after Kimkins) as I was researching someone who I am still trying to figure out how to go about “calling them out.”

Anyway, it all boiled back down to SEO again, and I was reminded of 1on40. My first typing in of the term was an interesting typo – that was 10n40 – that’s a ten, the letter “n” and the number 40. The o (letter o) and the 0 (zero) are in very close placement on the keyboard. I’ll give that little tidbit away for free for anyone who happens over this often depressing and sadistic blog. So, I got some results with the typo’s (very exciting) and decided to type in properly, and noticed that finally the sweet little hub page I was following had trickled down and the master “1on40″ was at the top.

I was sad to see the hub page project by Terry G had dropped to 3rd on the ranking. But to be honest – I called it a week or so ago. Yes, all those new affiliates have slapped coded banners on their sites, in addition to sprinkling links in blogs, hub pages, and God only knows where – and now there are a bazillion back links getting settled in – and what a mess this will be if indeed 1on40 is deemed a scam. The clean-up will be enormous. The winner now is the 1on40 headquarters dot net and dot com sites.

I am beginning to see the nay-sayers now. A person going by the name of “felix” appeared on Terry’s webpage, crying that google has banned his site, and his page rank has dropped. I wish felix had left a little more information. If anyone would like to leave comments here on this blog, with details and links to your sites please do.

I was a little excited to see my “part 1: 1on40” hanging in there on the front page. I had only blogged once before about it, and I was sure there had to be some people pushing it harder than I was. I think one of my advantages here is the sheer power of Wordpress.

Someone joked that maybe 1on40 had shut down scam.com. The site was down for a few days, and like a junkie I was jonesing for scam to get fixed. It has been back up for a week or so now. I visited Scam, and found this great thread here. 1on40 is being compared to MTT aka morethantraffic (dot) com. This company is gone, but many suspect this is a repeat, including Reg, who has his own problems with 1on40 and is documenting them at his forum.

This is just a mini-update for now, and I’ll be continuing on with this soon. I’m sure some people will be interested in some video stuff I have done (if the real scam is revealed) and more that I’m working on – like how to file a complaint with the FTC.

More Spring Cleaning – A Letter to my Fellow Anti-Kimkins Bloggers, And Forum Posters

Dear Fellow Bloggers,

I know you didn’t mean to do it. I have even done it myself in the past, and now I understand even more why I shouldn’t have done it.

They are buried, and while I was digging in the internet garden yesterday I came across a lot of them. Some of you have probably completely forgotten about them – but they are there, and have taken root.

Bloggers of all levels are in on this one – even the ones that the majority of us visit.

I know you didn’t mean to do it, but now I must ask – in the battle against Kimkins – if you could all pitch in for some spring cleaning.

What am I talking about?

Within many of your blogs – the majority being posts created last year – there are still links to Kimkins.com. They are “back links.” There might be only 1, 2, or 3 on your blog, but the accumulation of them from many blogs has added up and they are all pointing to Kimkins.

Why is this a bad thing?

Back links are a huge factor in the ranking and support of a website. Some links, like the ones from news organizations are not in our control. But the ones in our personal blogs are.

I am asking all bloggers to please take some time to do some spring cleaning and gardening today. Please remove direct links to Kimkins off your blog, and replace the link to something you feel really represents what Kimkins is.

I am not going to name any names here. I know you have all been extremely busy and working hard. I just hate to see us sabotaging ourselves.

To the Forum Posters -

I understand the listing of information from the Who Is and addresses provided to submit complaints. But within this information as well, links to Kimkins are sticking – and sticking it to us. If you come across one of these links on your forum, I would like to ask if you could please send a message to the forum director asking them to break the link. Also, if you need to list the Kimkins web site that you please be sure to break the link.

I will be doing some spring cleaning myself today, and I hope you will join me.

Thank you all who have worked to help.

Sincerely,

Avenue Girl

I Hear You, Amy B

“I lost the weight in such a way that I now am worried I will not be able to get to goal and or keep the weight off.”

Your post today Feeling Like A Failure resonates in my head. I came within 12 pounds of my goal, when I took a break after my losses seemed to come to a stand still. I continued to get on the scale daily for a while, and even continued the way I was eating (for the most part) just to maintain.

When the colder weather came, I was unable to get the exercise in that I was used to. I also came to the realization that it was no longer summer, and my hair seemed to still be shedding. I had upped supplements which appeared to help, but when I took a real look at myself I realized my hair was the thinnest it had been in my entire life.

I felt some weight coming back on. I was getting ready to recommit to losing and promoting the diet. That is when I did my google search, and was lead back to LCF. The realization that my metabolism may have taken a hit made me take a giant step back. I couldn’t let myself think about a diet – as much as I still had a number to reach that I had burned into my head.

My biggest concern became seeing my hair get back to normal. I reluctantly let myself go. I was going to give in to urges for things I had deprived myself of for months. With the help of the gals and guys in the Fascination threads, I was scared into upping my fats, and really balancing my diet. I’m glad they did it.

Just now I ran my fingers through my hair, and not a strand was lost.

I have put on 28 pounds. My clothes are really tight, and some do not fit. I had tossed all the larger sizes last year for fear of gaining. I have been living in sweat pants since January. I tried to start to lose again a couple of times before, and found myself subconsciously looking for lean and low calorie foods. Old habits of what appeared to work are really hard to break.

What is worse, is there really is no maintenance. Even Jeannie has admitted to putting a few pounds back on. I had to stop myself.

It has been roughly eight months to get to this point. I began my weight loss journey again on March 18th. I’m taking it one day at a time, and I’m not getting on the scale two times a day like I used to. I’m not in a rush. There is no set end date. This time I’m taking it one day at a time.

I just ate a ham and cheese sandwich with mayonaise on an oopsie roll. I don’t know how many calories I just ate, and right now I don’t care. I am full. I am also wearing a pair of pants that did not fit seven days ago.

I will not do Kimkins, or any variation of it. I want to start a fitday, but I am not ready for that mentally. Seeing the amount of fat I’ve eaten this past week alone might trigger temptations to cut back.

I hope eight months has been long enough. Things seem to be going well for now. My biggest concern is looking out for unhealthy changes in my body – obvious things like hair loss.

I am not worried about getting to goal. The world will not end. Don’t get me wrong – I have a goal . I think people worry when they have a time set in their mind of when they need to get there. What is the worst thing that will happen if you don’t get to goal Amy? What if you come within 10 lbs of goal, and you are healthy and wearing one size larger then you originally pictured? Does it make you less of a mother? Will it make you not as good a friend? Will you not be able to experience the most important things in your life? I’m not bashing you. I under stand completely the feelings you are having – as I had them as well.

The feelings you are having are quite real. But just the way you trained your mind into Kimkins, you will have to take some time to un-train it. There is no rush to get to goal. Do what you must do to get your body healthy and stabilized first.

Do not beat yourself up. This thing takes time to overcome. Take your time, try not to worry, and just know you are far from alone.

Some Definitions

Mariasol was kind enough to help break down some of the terms that have had us scratching our heads, and how they apply to Kimkins.

Thank you Mariasol! Your explanations were like an asprin for my exploding head.

Who Are You?

One of the downfalls of working online as opposed to in an office is knowing who you are working with. Also, knowing who is doing what and when.

It is no secret that there have been some groups structured to share information and help do what they can to bring down Kimkins. How do you know who to trust? And after Heidi, the master of disguise, how do you bring yourself to trust anyone?

Even those of us on the same side have questioned one another. I have always made it clear: anyone may investigate me at any time. Some have chosen to be anonymous. And with that, they lead themselves to less credibility.

There has been some back and forth over the past few days (airing of the sheets.) Everyone has been working hard, and under the circumstances they have all done really well.

I don’t know who Ducky is. I don’t know why Ducky stopped the blog, or why Ducky has mysteriously appeared again out of nowhere.

I’ll be the first to confess, I have taken liberties to take action on some things without seeking “group approval.” Some of these things have turned out great, and some I’ve been slapped on the hand for. There is so much ground to cover that it is near impossible to cover it all over the course of a day (or even months for that matter).

What does become more clear every day are the consistent players in this game. I think if nothing else, we all owe each other a little more courtesy in what each of us has contributed. I’m not looking for any praise on every little thing I have done. And honestly, other than a couple of video’s, and this blog, most of you have no idea of things I have done. I know at the same time of others who have done much more than I have. I am grateful to those people who have given so much of the one thing they can never get back. Their time.

The collection of good things here greatly out weighs the few mishaps. That is what we should learn from.

I don’t know who you are. But if you have taken any action to help take down Heidi then I say thank you.

Heidi, Are You Sleeping?

CBS ’s 60 Minutes had a show on last night about the importance of sleep. Apparently lack of sleep can increase your hunger levels, cause sugars not to be used properly, and eventually contribute to diabetes.

I always wondered if Heidi got any sleep. It seemed as though she was Read more

Part 1: 1on40

I stumbled upon a new concept last week. The name of the site is 1on4o. The site promises you a top number one spot in Google and 38 other search engine results based on 5 keywords. They say they can do this within 120 days. Some big questions are beginning to follow this company. Read more
