This Is Not Fair to Christin
Here’s another banner ad today, and sites linking to the image with affiliate numbers attached. The numbers I’ve highlighted in red are the affiliate ID numbers found when I hover over the image of Christin. If you decide to look at these sites, just copy the domain in black (omit the red part) and paste into your browser.

Looking a Who Is for Heidi?
I decided this morning to do a bit of poking around. Awe shucks, I do some poking around every morning. I did a little backlink search from the page that shows Heidi’s recommended books and DVD’s. Here is what I found.
For sh*ts and giggles (don’t ask where that came from) I thought I should really look up the “Who Is” information on this domain. I just would like to be sure it really did belong to Heidi. After all, I don’t want to collect what I think might be evidence of illegal activity and find out later it is not illegal.
So, I headed over to GoDaddy and plunked in a search for http://antikimmer.com. Oh, for those of you who have never done this before, here is how easy it it. You go to GoDaddy’s home page and type in the domain you are curious about like you were going to buy it for yourself.
After that, you click on the go button and here is the message you get:
Oh darn. Looks like antikimmer.com is not available. I do see the dot info for a song and a dance though! Anyway, now you want to get the details on who owns it. On the right it says “click here for info.” When you click that link you will get the who is information if the owner has not paid extra to keep the registration private.
Now, something you should know. This Who Is information is required to be updated on a regular basis and is not meant to be pen names or fake people. The who is requires you to provide the actual name of the owner. I get a regular letter from them that looks something like this:
Dear Valued Customer,

Here are the rules/requirements regarding the information you submit:
What is a Whois record? What is my duty to keep the information in the record current?
Your registrar maintains a public database of contact information for all of the domain names it maintains. This database is known as a Whois database, and it is available to be searched by members of the public in order to allow rapid resolution of technical problems and to permit enforcement of consumer protection, trademark, and other laws. Your domain name registration agreement with your registrar requires that you keep this information accurate and current.
Ok, so here is the Whois for this particular domain. Keep in mind, this is all public information.

Now who the heck is Renee Drake? I wonder. The name looks familiar. And why is Renee Drake using an email address that belongs to Heidi?
I would like to really thank someone today for making my job a whole lot easier. I really did not want to dig around to find stuff, but with an easy google search I was able to find this article on Zimbio immediately – THE DEPOSITION OF HEIDI DIAZ, PART ONE God, I LOVE the internet!
Ok, so it looks like antikimmer.com is registered to a dead woman? What? Now that just doesn’t look right. Luckily for me, there is alittle link above so I can Report Invalid Whois.
Here is the letter I sent them:
Dear WHOIS Representative,
I believe the contact name for this domain to be incorrect and quite possibly the name of a woman who is deceased. As you can see, antikimmer.com is linked to Kimkins. The name in question is Renee Drake.
I would like to bring your attention to an article which shows that the name is not the actual name of the owner of the domain.
THE DEPOSITION OF HEIDI DIAZ, PART ONE : http://www.zimbio.com/Kimkins/articles/149/DEPOSITION+HEIDI+DIAZ+PART+ONE
Here is a paragraph of interest:
“SUMMARY OF THE DEPOSITION OF HEIDI DIAZ, PART ONE
Who is Heidi Diaz?
Heidi Diaz has been known by the following names: Kimmer, Jennifer Dancer, Brad Curtis, Kimberely Stewart, and Kimberely Drake. She also testified that she was known on the Kimkins.com website as Vanessa, an affiliate manager. She had used the email Vanessa2lucky@yahoo.com. She also used Brandon Diaz name without his permission to receive an affiliate payment. She registered Brandon Diaz as the owner of the Kimkins website without his permission. She then switched the name of the owner to Renee Drake who was the mother of Ms. Diaz. Ms. Drake died in 1970. She has also used her niece’s name, Vanessa Romero.”There is currently a lawsuit facing Kimkins which is the business listed associated with this WHOIS information.
In an effort to provide only accurate evidence to the cause, I hope you can verify the name Renee Drake as the real person I can address in any emails to the email address listed which is heidikdiaz@gmail.com
Thank you for your consideration. If my information is incorrect I do apologize in advance, and if it is acceptable to use a false name to represent a contact I would greatly appreciate that information.
Again, thank you for taking the time to investigate this matter.
Sincerely,
Jill Carpenter
Just being a good citizen here, and want to make sure we are all on the same page here. So, I submitted a letter and here was the nice message I got after:
You’re welcome Heidi.
Gee, how time flies when you’re flapping like a duck! It’s time for lunch. I need to take a quick break here before I hit the publish of this blog post.
_____________________________________________________
Back from my break, and guess what? I got a response letter:
Hello,
Thank you for your email. Please respond to this email with evidence of the specific contact information you have found to be invalid on the Whois record for the domain name. Examples would be a bounced email or postal mail returned due to an invalid address. If you have a bounced email, please attach or forward with your reply, or in the case of returned postal mail, please send it to:
GODADDY.COM, INC.
Attn: Domain Services
14455 N Hayden Rd
Suite 219
Scottsdale, AZ 85260
Please note that none of the evidence you send to us will be shared with any third party.
Thank you,
Domain Services
Hmm. Now what would cause a letter to bounce? Perhaps I need to send a written insured certified letter to Renee Drake. Something she has to sign for and provide proof of who she is. Maybe I will send her a nice card. If the letter is returned, I can surely send it to GODADDY and show them something is amiss.

More Fun With Kimkins Backlinks!
Well, I just found a keyword rich domain that just might be owned by Kimmer.
After yesterdays lesson, I decided to see what affiliate programs may be linked to pushing the Kimkins affiliate program.
I went to the main Kimkins site and clicked on the “earn extra cash” in the sidebar. Hey, I’d like to earn some extra cash. Christmas will be here before you know it. Maybe something has changed.
Anyway, I found the page to sell possible affiliates on the idea of promoting for Kimkins. I got the actual page ID and stuck it into the backlinks.
Well, what do you know. Did you know if you type in the domain http://www.lose-fast-safely.com/ you are taken directly to the Kimkins home page? Wow.
I found a great little site called http://recentusanews.info/tag/kimkins. I’m not sure how that page is picking up links as it appears every other tag on the page is not the most flattering of links to the Kimkins Diet. It looks as though it is some sort of link exchange – I’d need to pick it apart some more.
Here are some other domains that go to the Kimkins home:
http://antikimmer.com
http://gokimkins.com
http://kimkins.org/ (I though there were some rules about what dot orgs can be used for, but I could be wrong)
http://kimkinsdiet.net ( this gave me an additional extention “a_aid=8953928a” which looks like an affiliate or tracking link of some kind)
There was of course a link to the blogspot blog, and there was one other site linking, but I think it is quite possibly an unintentional backlink from http://www.meltingmama.net. I’m not sure where the link is if it is still there exactly. Just another one of those things that takes time to find.
Melting Mama does have this blog post here on her typepad blog which strangly has an example ad running at the bottom which took me to http://www.kimkins.com/newlanding/index.html?gclid=CPWZy6uIgZYCFQETGgodclYPFA which is some new landing page for pushing Kimkins. I never saw that page before. It’s $79.95 so it can’t be too old. I think the ad is there as a google thing and melting mama might be getting a little money for the click through advertising. Very smart Mama! I gave it a click to see where it went so it’s quite possible I made you a nickel or two. I’ll have to look into that.
Singinglass is now on that banner ad. I wonder where her ads are stored? Why aren’t your affiliates using her picture Heidi? And with so many success stories now won’t anyone help?

Some of these sites may appear repetitive, but the ads run on multiple pages on these.
How do I know these are hosted on Kimkins? Well, it is quite easy once you know the address of the file – look at this video:
So, once you get that address, you can submit it to something to check the backlinks – like backlinkwatch.
Then, when the backlinks appear, click on them to see what sites they originate from. What is really cool after that is hovering over the ad. You will clearly see an affiliate ID attached to the ad.
My results above were only from looking up the backlinks to just one image.
Some of these sites are hosted outside of the US, but if you remove the source image, they will disappear.

Business Advice for Heidi
I’m very concerned about you Heidi. I did a quick little search for Kimkins today and I see you are still running your ads:
Yet, apparently Heidi is facing some financial hardship. Heidi, you don’t bet on the ponies with your last bit of money!
Not only that, but this is just a shame you are calling this a “no exercise” diet. I think the lesson a lot of us have learned is that exercise is very important when losing weight. Exercise is good for the body. There is maybe a very small amount of the population who have been told not to exercise for some serious medical condition. Are these the people you are trying to target?
I’m very concerned about your business Heidi. So, here is my advice for the day. Stop wasting your money on the paid advertising. You don’t have money to be frivelously pawning off on expensive ads. Remember? I think you need to ramp up your efforts on getting the word out about Kimkins. That way people will just google it, and of course your site comes right to the top of the search. You have securely locked in at the top. Isn’t that just great?
Now, unfortunately every other site on that front page results is currently anti-kimkins, but don’t most people click on the top one? Or do most actually scroll down the page? Hmmm.
I see. The only way for you to now lure people in is with your ads put on sites where the consumer does not see anything negative, like how you LIED.
If anyone has caused you any financial hardship, it has been you causing your own problems. See, if you hadn’t LIED in the first place, there would be nothing negative for us to say about the wonderful Kimkins Diet.
I wonder what other lies you’ve been telling. Could there be any about me? I sure hope you haven’t accused me of doing anything I didn’t do – that could be SLANDER. Something like that could tarnish my GOOD REPUTATION. Of course, I would have to provide “proof that the defendant uttered the alleged statement.” Good thing those court people write down everything you are saying and there are witnesses there to hear it. Fortunately for me, I keep all my records. I’m willing to show the courts all and any of my accounts and documents. Let’s hope it doesn’t have to come to that as I do hate paperwork. But for this cause I will do anything required.

Heidi, I’m Furious!
I just found out my name came up as roughly number 5 on a countersuit to the Kimkins Class Action Lawsuit. I’m really Furious!
Why?
It’s not what you might think.
While I have done a little bit of this and a little bit of that, there are others who should be recognized much more than myself. You see, I see my name on that countersuit as a BADGE OF HONOR. To me it means I have done something to get out the word of the dangers of the Kimkins Diet as originally written when I joined last year. But I honestly don’t deserve the credit.
I can’t say I know what is going on now as I was banned from the site (see second post of this blog) and so for all I know the plan is now healthy and maybe someone with a real health background is running the site. But how would I know? So much for my LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP.
So many others have worked one hundred times harder than I did. I have been consumed in my own trials and tribulations, and just do not deserve this great honor.
While some may feel this is an intimidation, a reason to back down, reason to want to be anonymous, I LOVE IT! Heidi, thank you for adding my name to the internet. Thank you for the attention, really. There is only shame in feeling like I really didn’t earn it. Don’t get me wrong – I would have done more than I have if it meant saving someone from tragedy in their business or their health – and if I just had the time! Not to mention dealing with my own personal anguish. I mean who wants to promote a product that is all based on a lie? Not me. And I wouldn’t wish that on any affiliate marketer. And who wants to promote a hap hazard diet that no doctor will approve? Sure not me. I AM AFRAID TO DIET!!!!!
I am afraid to diet.
There, you heard it from the horses mouth.
I have not updated my weight on LCF, and I am afraid to diet all together because mentally I just want to “not eat” and lose fast. Thanks to my friends, I know this will be severely unhealthy. Pound a day my ass. It is not healthy. So in the meantime, I am just 20 pounds shy of having all the weight back. It has now become a major battle in my head – so much so that I can’t even deal with it. The minute I start counting calories is the minute I start going a bit insane. Thanks Heidi. This IS the result of your website and “enough fat to make it work.”
Anyway, back to the topic. I am undeserving of this honor, but I will proudly wear it. I will wear it in support of those who have typed their fingers to the bone.
Really, it is just my name on another piece of paper.
I think I know what the real problem is here. It is quite possible your site has become so stale and stagnent that you just have way too much time on your hands. You had time to start a silly little suit. You want to cry poverty? Mental anguish? etc etc???
What happened to the strong person running their own business and who lost 198 lbs in 11 months? Oh, I’m sorry, that WASN’T you. You never did those things. So maybe you are a bit fragile now and need to lash out with this hobby.
In any event, it looks as though I have not been paying you near enough attention. So, give me a little time and I’ll see if I can’t remedy that.

Congratulations Echizen!
Filed under: affiliate marketing, my online income system
Who is Echizen? Just one member of My Online Income System from Kimberley Hoffman. Why are congratulations in order? Well, I got a really good chuckle reading their comment in the private forum.
Echizen made a first sale on the web and their product has something to do with man boobs. My GUESS is that they are selling a product to help get people back in shape – men who may have a bit more in the boob area. I think I’ve seen products that target that problem. Wow. What a niche.
Many people get hung up and think the only way to make money online is to sell make money online products. This can be tough when you’ve never actually made any money online.
There are many more success stories in the private forum, and things are looking up.
The price has increased again, but there is so much going on inside now I guess it was to be expected.

Pictures, Pen Names, Products, and Ethics
I posted a question today on a forum I frequent. The post was about the ethics of using a fake picture to represent yourself. I recently found out that a product I’m promoting uses a stock photo which is perceived as the product creator.
If you have been following this blog, you will know in the case of the Kimkins diet scam that one of the problems was the creator Heidi Diaz using fake pictures to represent herself, as well as other pictures to represent successful testimonials to sell the diet. In that particular case she did not use stock photos but actually used photos taken (allegedly stolen) from Russian brides websites.
So here I am faced with the fake picture scenario again. The product in question does not say anything like “you will look like me if you buy this product.” The product itself is sound. It is not harmful in any way, it works. The only thing in question is the picture provided on the site of the product creator. I have been made aware of a picture of the same person being used on another site.
I was sent an email by a furious subscriber. They unsubscribed from my list all because that picture is a fake. They claimed that it questions my credibility.
I do my darndest to find products that are not a scam, and I personally purchase and look at the products before suggesting them to anyone else. And as much investigation as I can do, it would have been nearly impossible for me to find out that the picture used in this case was a fake without someone else seeing it somewhere.
A lot of times, marketers will use purchased stock photos to make their sales page pretty. Many marketers use pen names to write articles about what they are promoting – especially when they are promoting some very different niches. Does this make the product less effective?
People have different reasons for doing these things. It is a very gray area I’m dealing with. Is the product creator selling a product based on what they look like?
If someone purchases the product based on what the person looks like, then they are purchasing this particular product for entirely the wrong reason.
If someone purchases this product based on my recommendation but I lie in my recommendation then that is a whole other ball of wax.
I have never confirmed that the picture used to represent the person was one and the same. I have done all I can with the exception of showing up on this persons doorstep to see if they are who they say they are.
As an affiliate, I look for safe and useful products that do what they say they do.
As a product creator, I would never use a fake photo of myself. That is where my ethics are.
In this particular circumstance, I am just an affiliate, not the product creator. I like this product, and I think for the price it is a fair value.
This was a really tough thing to work out, but I’m confident with my current choice.
