Am I Off Topic Here?

I am taking a chance with this blog. I have broken one of the cardinal rules. My blog currently covers two topics. Yet, these two things cross paths in so many ways.

I read a comment just now left on another blog, and I need to get something off my chest.

In Diary of a Mad Housewife, Dana has left a comment and it really saddened me.

As wonderful as the web is, it is also still increasingly dangerous.

I have some questions for Dana. She may never see them, but I will put them up here just the same as others may happen across this page and possibly this will give them something to ponder.

I picture Dana as a dear friend, even though I have never met her, and have no idea about the life and struggles of Dana.

So as my dear friend Dana, I would ask you these questions. Purely out of true concern from one friend to another.

Dana, why do you take advice from a woman who lied about who she was?

Why do you follow a diet that is still not proven to be safe?

Why do you put your health in the hands of someone who is not a trained health care professional?

Do you know all of the facts of the woman you choose to take advice from?

If you suspected a friend or family member was having the wool pulled over their eyes, would you not want to warn them?

These are just a few of the questions I would ask any dear friend.

I’m not going to lie to you Dana. I did not get it at first. I didn’t understand what the big deal was. I felt I wanted to be in charge, and make my own decisions. I didn’t need these crazy “haters” raining on my parade. So I entered the fascination thread to give them my two cents.

I took the time to stop and listen to their responses to me too. I wanted to understand why they were so intent on carrying on. It wasn’t just one or two looneys putting up a stink. Their number was probably somewhere in the hundreds.

Their compassion for others became clearly apparent to me within the writing of just a few posts. They had nothing to “sell” me. There was nothing in it for them. I was just an intruder. Yet, they took the time to listen to me, and treated me fairly.

Now I have joined the “haters” for better or worse. I understand their mission, and I believe the cause is beyond worthy.

So, is there something in all of this for me besides saving a few people from harms way?

You’d be right to ask that question. And I’ll be perfectly honest with you.

I’m trying to build my own reputation here in the land of affiliate marketing. In that endeavor, I have made a vow to myself. I know what is most important. People, and my future customers. I made a vow to research all products and services to the best of my ability before selling anything to anyone. Sure, I could just sign up and sell the same crap as everyone else, and probably have a fortune in my pocket by now. But I feel what ever product I sell, and who I choose to sell for is a direct reflection of me and what I stand for.

I used to sell Kimkins. I made some money off it. As of last year in June, I had great plans to help promote the diet. I really believed at the time it was a great thing.

But I hadn’t done my homework. I let you down, and everyone else that I sent in that direction. When the truth was made available to me, I felt complete shame. I need to make money, but the most important thing to consider is the customer.

So I use this blog in a few ways. I use it to help expose the Kimkins scam, as well as other scams I may come across during this journey.

I hope the information I provide here can help re-establish trust. I hope it will encourage other affiliates to do their research. It is information for people looking to buy something, whether or not it is a scam. With out full trust from my future customers, I have no future here.

Heidi broke that trust way too many times. She has not appropriately apologized to anyone. She has confessed only the sins she has been forced to face, to avoid the angry mob. She doesn’t care about you. She will tell you she does, but she is just trying to sell you more stuff.

She will try to sell to you until the cows come home.

I would like to see one respectable medical doctor approve her plan. Do you think anyone wants their name associated with her? No, they don’t.

Don’t you think, if she was really selling you something good, there would be other big respectable people rallying behind her? Don’t you think she’d be able to ask some real licensed professionals to help prove her diet? A diet that wonderful, if it is really that great, there would be hoards of people wanting to promote that.

Dana, I hope you are able to take some time and really look at what is going on.

I have not sold anything this year yet. I am taking time to do my best to research things I believe in and I think are really good products. I’m doing everything in my power to make sure what I promote is not a rip off or a scam. My reputation and my future is at stake.

I want you to trust me. You really are more important than anything else. Even if you never bought a thing from me, I would never recommend Kimkins, not even to a stranger.
