Yes you are correct. The only way right now that we can dispute the charges is if a credit card was used for all purchases. Now if there was a personal check that was used and it wasn't more than say 60 days old. We could look into the circumstances and possibly work with the bank to try and retrieve your money back in full. Otherwise when you use secured funds consider that as paying cash. Now with the amount being so high, I would definately recommend a lawyer that handles cases such as this. I haven't found a lawyer to refer people to in such cases but if anyone has any recommendations please email me and I'd be happy to send business your way.

Any please anyone who reads this, if you do know anyone who has been scammed please refer them to Capital Retrieval, LLC. We could listen to the story and see what options you might have to retrieve that money back onto your credit cards.

Have a nice weekend!

Hi Ashley,

My friend paid with 2 checks - one of them they were sure to tell him to write for under 10g (I'm sure we can figure out why that is). This was quite some time ago so It's looking like this would not be something you could assist with as I don't see how he could do a charge back. His only option would be if there was a class action suit in place, correct? I'm thinking that is the only option for a lot of these folks. Those take some time to organize and get going. It has taken a bunch of us here 2 years to get ours "certified" and we are still waiting to finalize things.

If CRS knew what they were doing they should of asked if you were currently filing bankruptcy or have filed bankruptcy since this purchase. It wouldn't be worth your time or money if you filed chapter 7 and wiped this charge completely. It would be impossible to credit back that credit card if it was through a bankruptcy. However if it was a chapter 13 or in some sort of debt consolidation more would need to be discussed to make sure that if you won your case you would receive that money and put it towards your debt. Does this make sense? Basically all this knowledge is public knowledge, however there are alot of details usually involved as well. Unfortunately Sue, just from reading above, I would say that if you aren't still currently paying on the amount paid to the scam originally then you could call it a loss. This type of service would not be any use to you.
I apologize for all the headaches and confusion. Before purchasing anything do your research, and if you have any reserved feelings, you should listen to your gut.

Good luck to you!

Also please understand that not being given a guarantee isn't always negative. With this type of business Capital Retrieval would be lieing if we made a guarantee or promise as far as you getting your money back or not. Although we can ask the right questions and make sure you fit within the right criteria to make a good case. We don't make the decision on whether or not you get your money back. Please anyone who reads this, and you have been scammed one way or another and you used a credit card with all purchases Capital Retrieval might be able to help you. Everyone should be educated about their rights!
The website is below and my email address is capitalretrieval@gmail.com
(I apologize about the spelling error above.) I also apologize for taking 4 weeks to respond.

However I do know that I, when I worked for them was one of the only people that actually understood a chargeback. Unfortunately I was only 1 person and many people were sold on a daily basis. It was eventually becomeing overwhelming very quickly. 1 person couldn't possibly help everyone. Long story short I, and the other woman that came up with the concept decided that the business was focused on the money not the consumer. Ethically I could not work there anymore. There is certain qualifications for our services. As much as I would love to be able to get EVERYONES money back, that is impossible. This type of business is a brand new concept and not much of a market out there. However Capital Retrieval, LLC is an honest and knowledgeable business that will truly give you your options and lay everything out on the table. We also have a website for everyone to go to. Please understand Capital Retrieval, LLC is NOT affiliated with CRS in any way. Our turnover rate, we dont have one just yet. It takes time to be in business to truly have a turnover rate. However I have over 3 years experience with chargebacks and truly know what it takes in order for you to get your money back. ________

There seems to be alot of controversey! I apologize for taking so long I haven't checked any forums in quite a while. There seems to be alot happening in the last month. To protect myself I will not slander any company and will only state what I think or have come across to be true. I did previously work for CRS. The concept was compiled together by a very intelligent woman is was ready to try and turn around this economy by putting money rightfully owed back into the consumers hands. There are many articles about Consumer Retrieval Services and/or Capital Retrieval Services. Everyone should do your research. Unfortunately there are always going to be bad business owners out there. Just be careful! However whether or not CRS is actually helping those that are purchasing from them, I have no idea.

Hi Sue,

Yes, we heard FTC thrown into the pitch as well, so I'm giving them a call today. For them to say that they are monitored by the FTC - well everyone is "monitored" by the FTC as far as I know. There is nothing to stop anyone at anytime from filing concerns or complaints with the FTC. But to tell you the truth - the FTC has bigger fish to fry and even our cries and complaints (on another scam) were not attended to - to my personal knowledge, unless there is something that is in the works.

While they (CRS) are listed over at the BBB that is not rocket science. This does not make them approved by the BBB or endorsed by the BBB - it is just a general listing of businesses.

Take for example Kimkins - which was the scam that inspired the initial creation of this blog back in Dec 2007. The business is still open, and can say legally they are listed in the BBB. If you follow up, Kimkins has a rating of F thanks to relentless consumers who took action to file their complaints about the company. Of course, these complaints did not find their way there in the beginning. It took a couple of years for the company to gain enough exposure to get to the point of consumers uncovering facts that were disguised by the company and honestly that company would have never gained the popularity that it did if the truth had been available from the beginning.

And while the service provided by CRS may be valid, I am a bit disturbed over the fees and pricing. What on earth are they doing that will cost them $1,000 to do? You have to consider "they would attempt to get my money back" and wonder - are they going to fill out your paperwork for you? Either way, if they don't get your money back they have claimed $1,000 either way which is still a good chunk of change. Anyone who decides to go for this package should be entitled to a list of actions that this company plans to do. The job they are doing for you if you know what I mean. It should be treated the same as going to a doctor or a lawyer. Do you just hand the money over? While many people do - this is a big mistake. Will you let the doctor shoot you up with something before asking what is in it and what is it for? Is it really necessary to get your wisdom teeth pulled out? For some, yes, and for others they just get it done without getting that second opinion.

The scariest part of this business is that they have some how obtained a list of the victims. There is now someone out there who has YOUR name, YOUR phone number and knows that you were taken for some money. It is not like a charitable organization that is saying "we want to help the consumers and we only charge what is necessary to run the business and we don't get paid unless you do." This company has got their hands on a LIST of sensitive information. My biggest question is how on earth did they obtain this list? And if they got it, who else was able to get it?

In marketing there is a saying "the money is in the list" and this is a prime example. The people being targeted are those who have or had money, thousands of dollars of it, and were willing to part with it. You are all an extremely vulnerable group - and CRS is taking orders regularly (just a guess - they told me 25-35 per day) with no assurance to the consumer that they will get a refund of any kind. They can not guarantee you will get your money back - and it was smart of them to make sure you know that. This covers them and validates them keeping your money irregardless of the outcome. We are reliant on the words of the representative or the manager to trust that they have satisfied customers and testimonials.

Perhaps they do have access to some funds, and I don't know a whole lot but to insure all the people who signed up for the scam I was involved in could get their money back this required the assembling of a class action lawsuit.

There is nothing to stop other companies from squandering funds away and declaring bankruptcy. How deep will this refund money pile go before it is dried up? Isn't each consumer entitled to a refund when a business is fraudulent?

Assuming that the practices of CRS are in order, I'm afraid for those at the bottom of the barrel who may not get the help they deserve. I could be wrong about all of this - and let's hope I am. I'll be sure to let you all know what I am able to get out of the call from the FTC.

Hi!
I am so glad to see this! I, too, received an unsolicited call. They knew the name of the company that I had dealt with. The woman that called said that there had been many complaints filed against this company and that they had researched it and knew they could get my money back. For $1000 and 20% of what was retrieved, they said they would attempt to get my money back. When I told them I didn't have $1000, they offered the $149 "do it yourself" packet. The lady that called said they were monitored by the Federal Trade Commission and usually got results in 30-90 days. I have lost ALOT of money, ended up declaring bankruptcy and losing my house because of the company they called about and the companies that were recommended by them. It was really tempting....but the last thing I need to do is invest in another scam. Thank you for your research. I will be following your research into this matter. I hope you can get more information.

Hi Ashley,

I'm not sure on the spelling of your gmail address - ei or ie?? Either way, feel free to explain here in the comments.

Thanks for stopping by - I would really like to clarify who is what and where, and get some verification on these services and a success rate. I had offered my friend Jim to be a guinea pig in return for a testimonial if he was successful in getting his funds back with using Consumer Retrieval Services but they claimed to already have too many testimonials.

I'm all for these services if they really work, but I think it's scary for some people to get called like I've been hearing about and the service already has their information.

Can you tell me if you are working in some way with the FTC?

I'm all for these services if they really work, but I think it's scary for some people to get called like I've been hearing about and the service already has their information.

Can you tell me if you are working in some way with the FTC?
