Just so you know, there's a new one out there. Same basic wording, different format. Same idiots I just got this email today and sent back a nasty email. Notice the amount has risen 3 million in only 3 months! What a joke:

I am Arthur Preston, a solicitor at law and the sole executor to the late Mr. Robert M. R** who died in a car crash with his immediate family in East London. Kindly get in touch with me for better explanation and send to me your telephone and fax numbers to enable us discuss further on this abandoned estate worth £9.8million. Thanks for your understanding

I'm so happy my husband said I should google the phone number from this email. I received it 3 months ago and quickly emailed back a heated email. I'm not an idiot, wasn't born yesterday, and I love making people feel like they wasted their time. So glad to hear you are as voracious as I am! Keep up the good work.

PS. Be aware this comment is doubling as a legal document demanding you stop telling the truth. If that doesn't make you contact me, supplying me with your personal info I'll be forced to contact you again using my handy dandy, super impressive official email client not connected to my business just as soon as I figure out the 27 other people I want to email it to in hopes they'll forward it along to you while keeping it's contents top secret. Crazy, huh?

A friend who hasn't blogged about this in well over a year got the same email today, and that's when I went looking and saw you had, too.

Now I am wondering who else has gotten/ will get them. We should start a count.

He tried to send me the identical letter on May 22 AS A BLOG COMMENT. And get this — he signed in to make the comment under the user name "Interested."

To quote an attorney friend of mine:
"Last I checked we live in the United States where there is freedom of speech and you cannot be sued for telling the truth."

Are we sure that HD didn't copy the letters previously issued under the SLAM lawsuit and send this herself?

I mean anyone can create an email address at one of the free email places and use any name they like.

Not very smart of Mr. Peabody in my opinion. Very unprofessional. I hope for his sake this was just some scammer attempt – otherwise Mr. Peabody is in some big trouble for the way he pursued sending me a letter like this if you know what I mean. He may have as well emailed it to Heidi and had her issue it in a newsletter. I probably would have seen it sooner. What the heck is he thinking?

I have never heard of a lawyer sending official correspondence via email (and not even to the right person). If he really had any intent of pursuing this angle, wouldn't he have subpoenaed your address first and write you a REAL letter?

WTG! KUTGW!!!! There's nothing that inspires further commentary than to have a mess of an attorney THREATEN YOU for using your first amendment rights. I hope he sends a letter like that to everyone who has commented about the KK fraud. Of course, if he does, he won't have time to read Heidi's despition. He'll need to memorize that sucker before next Monday!
